How this site was made

Set in Plus Jakarta Sans for headings (700 and 800) and Instrument Sans for body copy (400 through 600), both loaded via Google Fonts. Eyebrows and dates use Overpass Mono. The canvas is a warm linen at #EDE9E0; the brass at #C5A059 only appears on rules and highlights, so the page reads as one note unless you reach for it. Background depth is a single soft brass radial gradient at seven percent opacity, applied to the body — no grain layer; linen carries enough warmth on its own. Built with Astro, deployed on Vercel. Roughly fifteen lines of vanilla JavaScript run the project dialog on Code; everything else here is static HTML and CSS. Photography is mine, processed for the linen surface: warm color, light desaturation, matted in off-white frames.

Influences

The choices weren't pulled from a swatch book. The deep sage and brass come from a lineage of color in light: Thief's neon on pavement, Blade Runner's amber and shadow, the warm contrast of 70s film stock. The linen surface and matted photo frames are an Eggleston move: print as object, not stream. Grain on the dark canvas honors film. Restraint, because the work that holds up is the work where craft is visible without being explained.
